The success of any project is paramount to all those involved. Ensuring the success of any project starts with all team members understanding their roles and responsibilities. This is particularly important for larger teams that might have team members distributed throughout various locations. RACI charts can be tremendously helpful in establishing these roles and responsibilities.

RACI stands for Responsible Accountable Consulted Informed. The RACI chart is frequently used by organizations to help teams understand their roles with respect to project deliverables. Four association types are defined in the RACI chart, helping team leaders assign tasks, activities, and responsibilities to help everyone make decisions and hold themselves and each other accountable. In this manner, a RACI chart clarifies the expectations of everyone’s individual level of participation.
