量具 R&R 研究可以要求严格的“平衡”设计，尽管实际上数据的收集通常并不完美。也许在研究中让操作员将所有部件测量相同的次数并不可行，或者可能一些测量数据已经丢失。扩展量具 R&R 允许您分析测量系统，即使有这样不平衡的数据，也无需手动计算来解释丢失的数据。
